Save Mister!

Save Mister!

Mister, also sometimes called Bruno, is a young dog Clay and I found on the side of the road on our way to our Christmas holiday with my family.  It is not hard to notice how small he is or his severe limp.  To our surprise, he is the most mild-mannered and kindest dog we have ever met.  Within minutes of picking him up, he began to give us kisses and along our travels we found that he is a leaner! This dog, who should easily be 45-50 lbs, weighs a mere 28 lbs.

There is a local veterinary hospital that was open the day before Christmas.  Mister was examined and x-rayed.  The doctor then told us that Mister has a fractured femoral neck.  This injury is 2-3 weeks old and could have easily been caused by getting hit by a car.  At this point, the only way for him to get better is to undergo surgery.

The surgery he needs to have is called a FHO or Femoral Head Ostectomy
.  This is a surgical procedure that removes the femoral head and neck from the femur and allows his muscles to support his hip.  His range of motion will be decent, he will be able to walk normally, and his pain will be completely diminished.

This procedure, depending on the clinic to which it is performed, will cost anywhere from $700 to $1000.  We are asking your help to save Mister.  Any dollar amount, whether $5 or $50, will help us in our goal to give Mister a healthy, loving life he deserves so much!
